Tyrolean mountain wool comes from sheep raised at high altitude in the European Alps. Cold climate produces naturally dense, lanolin-rich fiber - thicker and more thermally stable than lowland wool. Feltforma sources only mulesing-free fleece from small farms, then water-washes it with natural olive oil soap. No bleaching. No dye baths. No chemical softeners.

How do I clean a wool sauna hat or wool slippers?

Wool is naturally odor-resistant — frequent washing is not necessary. Simply air out after use. If needed, hand wash in cool or lukewarm water with mild wool detergent. Press out excess water gently, reshape while damp, and air dry flat away from direct heat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. With proper care, dense Tyrolean wool maintains its structure for years of regular use.
Why choose undyed wool?

Undyed wool retains its natural lanolin - the fiber's built-in thermal regulator. Chemical dyeing strips lanolin and alters the fiber structure, reducing performance. In extreme heat, dyed wool also carries the risk of chemical pigments activating on the scalp. Undyed Tyrolean mountain wool contains no pigments, no fixing agents, no chemical finishes. Only fiber in its natural state.
Are sauna hats suitable for infrared and
