A Wool Sauna Hat for Your Wellness Rituals

The seamless construction has no stitched seams, synthetic lining or plastic hardware. What touches your head is the same natural wool you see on the outside.

Undyed Alpine Wool
I work with Tyrolean mountain wool from Alpine farms that do not practice mulesing. It is left undyed and unbleached, washed only with water, and brought to my studio as naturally as possible.
The colors come from the sheep themselves. Subtle differences in tone and texture remain in each finished piece.
Look closely and you may find a tiny trace of dry Alpine meadow caught among the fibers, even in the hanging loop.

Sculpted by My Hands
Every hat begins with loose wool fibers. Using water and friction, I slowly bring them together into one seamless piece.
Each hat takes hours of hand-sculpting, followed by natural drying. No machines, glue or synthetic binders.
My grandmother felted boots in a small village. Working with wool connects me to that family craft, while the shapes I create today are my own.

You can also carefully trim the edge if you prefer a shorter hat. The felted wool does not fray.

Caring for Your Wool Sauna Hat
Rinse gently with cool water when needed. Reshape while damp and air dry flat. Allow your hat to dry fully before storing it.
Avoid hot washing water, rubbing during cleaning and machine washing, which can cause further felting and shrinkage.
Making and Worldwide Delivery
Your hat is sculpted to order. Please allow approximately 14 days before dispatch, followed by shipping.
Transit to the USA and Canada is about 10 days after dispatch. These times are estimates; delivery elsewhere varies by destination.
Worldwide delivery is $29 per hat, with duties and taxes included.

Why might there be a little grass in the wool?
Occasionally, a tiny trace of dry Alpine meadow remains among the water-washed fibers. A little of the place the wool came from stays with the piece.

Two hats, one order
Both hats are in one order and ship together from Vilnius. Choose a shade and a loop for each hat: two of the same, or two different ones, so each of you has your own.
For the sauna and the cold plunge
Wool stays comfortable when it is wet, and dense wool keeps a little warmth around your head between the sauna and the cold water. Rinse the hats with cool water afterward and air dry them flat. With the wool loop, you can hang them to air. A hat adds comfort. It does not make the sauna or the cold plunge safer, so follow your own limits and leave when you feel unwell.
Why is this hat so tall?
The height is deliberate. A standard hat stands about 15 in (38 cm) tall. Heat gathers high in a sauna, and your head takes it first. A tall hat rests on you lightly, with dense wool around you and space above you, and it has room for long hair. You can fold the brim, wear it long, or trim the edge. The wool does not fray.
The meadow stays in
Look closely and you may find a trace of dry Alpine meadow in the wool. The wool is washed with water only, so it stays, even in the loop. I could take it out. I'd rather not.

Why I Use Undyed Wool for Sauna Hats
I choose undyed wool because I want the material to stay as close as possible to the way it came from the sheep.
My Alpine wool comes from mountain farms that do not practice mulesing. It is left undyed and unbleached, washed only with water, and brought to my Vilnius studio as naturally as possible.
The shades belong to the sheep. The texture belongs to the wool.
I shape the fibers by hand into one seamless piece, without stitched seams, glued layers, polyester or synthetic lining.
Why Is There Meadow Grass in My Wool Sauna Hat?
You may find a small trace of dry Alpine meadow in your hat, sometimes even in the wool loop.
I work with wool washed only with water and handle it as lightly as possible. A little of where it came from may remain among the fibers.
I could remove every last piece. I choose not to.
Sometimes, the meadow stays in.
