Alpine Wool Leg Warmers & Boot Liners — Forest Floor, All Seasons
FELTFORMA's hand sculpted felt leg warmers and boot liners are formed from living-shorn Alpine virgin wool — undyed, lanolin-rich, and worn from the mountain to the city, for those who understand that what grounds the body begins at the leg.
The colour is not chosen. It is found. Forest Floor is the deep warm brown of chestnut wool in low autumn light — the shade the fleece grows to when the animal lives close to the earth. There is no dye here, no pigment decision. The colour is the wool and the wool is the animal. What you feel against your leg is the same thing the sheep felt in the field.
Cold finds the leg first. The ankle, the calf, the back of the knee — these are the places the body loses heat before the mind notices. Alpine wool interrupts that process without effort. It does not heat. It holds. The lanolin inside the fibre — intact, water-washed, never stripped — creates a microclimate between the wool and the skin that the body reads as its own warmth returning. Seven undyed shades to choose from — each one the colour a different sheep grew. Select the one your eye rests on.
Slide them inside tall boots on a winter morning. Wear them under jeans, over leggings, against bare skin. Take them skiing, hiking, to the mountain, to bed. Pair them with FELTFORMA slippers and the combination closes into a wool boot. The Forest Floor shade disappears inside a dark boot and surfaces as something considered when the boot comes off.
Each warmer is wet felted and hand sculpted by Dovile in her Vilnius studio. Wider at the top, tapered at the ankle. No seams. No glue. The form holds the leg without asking permission.
Price is for leg warmers only. Slippers sold separately.
