Most slippers are made for a standard foot and adjusted after the fact. These begin wide. The form is sculpted from the start around a foot that needs more room — across the ball, through the arch, at the toe. The felt does not compress a wide foot into a narrow shape. It holds the foot exactly as it is.
Mountain Dusk on the exterior — the deepest shade in the undyed palette, almost black, the shade the fleece grows to at high altitude. First Light inside — the pale grey that greets the foot first, soft and unhurried. Where the two meet at the opening of the slipper, at the pull tab that makes entry effortless, two honest materials find each other without effort.
The pull tab is felted wool — the same material as the slipper itself. No synthetic loop, no plastic hardware. One motion and the heel is in. For a wide foot that has spent years forcing itself into shoes that were never built for it, that moment matters.
The lanolin remains inside the fibre intact, creating a surface the nervous system reads as neutral. Look closely and you may find a small piece of dry mountain grass pressed into the felt. It is left as found. The grass stayed. The toxins never arrived.
