FELTFORMA's women's wool slippers in Mountain Dusk and First Light are hand sculpted from living-shorn Alpine virgin wool — undyed, water-washed, toxin-free, and naturally thermoregulating through every season, for those who have refined their home down to what is exactly right and will not accept anything less.
Two shades. Mountain Dusk on the exterior — the deepest colour in the undyed palette, almost black, the shade the fleece grows to at the highest altitude where the cold is most constant and the wool is densest. First Light inside — the pale grey of early morning before the sun reaches the mountain, the colour that greets the foot first. Where the two meet at the opening of the slipper, dark and light find each other without effort. That line is not designed. It is simply where one animal's wool ends and another's begins.
No dye was added to either shade. The colours are the animals' own — both still grazing, entirely unbothered. What you feel against your foot is what each animal grew in open pasture, water-washed and untouched.
The lanolin remains inside the fibre intact, creating a surface the skin reads as familiar. Not managed, not treated, not held at a distance by chemistry. Look closely and you may find a small piece of dry mountain grass pressed into the felt. It is left as found. The grass stayed. The toxins never arrived.
In winter the Alpine wool holds warmth without trapping heat. In summer it wicks moisture without intervention. The foot inside them simply functions as it was designed to — bare, unmanaged, and entirely at ease.
